Main function of 5'-partner protein: FUNCTION: Regulates the activity of L-type calcium channels that contain CACNA1C as pore-forming subunit (PubMed:21127204). Regulates the trafficking and gating properties of AMPA-selective glutamate receptors (AMPARs), including GRIA1 and GRIA4. Promotes their targeting to the cell membrane and synapses and modulates their gating properties by slowing their rates of activation, deactivation and desensitization and by mediating their resensitization (PubMed:21172611). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:21127204, ECO:0000269|PubMed:21172611}.

Q12830

Main function of 5'-partner protein: FUNCTION: Histone-binding component of NURF (nucleosome-remodeling factor), a complex which catalyzes ATP-dependent nucleosome sliding and facilitates transcription of chromatin. Specifically recognizes H3 tails trimethylated on 'Lys-4' (H3K4me3), which mark transcription start sites of virtually all active genes. May also regulate transcription through direct binding to DNA or transcription factors.
