About KinaseFusionDB
Tumorigenic functions of fusion genes are targeted for cancer therapeutics. Kinase fusion genes were the most targeted fusion gene group among multiple major cellular gene groups. Kinase inhibitors focused on targeting signal transduction without control in cancers. However, we do not know the detailed mechanisms of action and contexts of individual kinase inhibitors in kinase fusion oncoproteins. This is critical to developing effective personalized therapeutics and next-generation kinase inhibitors. Recently, we developed a novel in-silico pipeline of fusion protein 3D structure prediction and virtual screening. Utilizing this pipeline, we can fill this knowledge gap for all human kinase fusion oncoproteins. This systematic landscaping of the kinase inhibitors in pan-cancer human kinase fusion proteins will provide helpful knowledge for prioritizing the kinase inhibitors and unique/novel aspects of current kinase inhibitors.
